On March 28, 2014 community partners representing 11 Chester-based non-profit organizations gathered with President Harris, faculty, Board of Trustee members, and administrators to discuss Widener's Strategic Plan and ways to implement democratic partnerships.

Conversations over lunch included discussions on ways to effectively build reciprocal relationships and implement democratic civic engagement in the community. This was the first event of its kind and provided Widener’s leadership team a wealth of information as it continues to carry out the university’s strategic planning process.
