How to Obtain a Criminal Background Check

Does your organization require volunteers to work with minors and children?  If so, they will need to obtain a criminal background check.  Generally, they'll need three different clearances:  (1) PA Child Abuse History, (2) PA Criminal Record Check, and (3) FBI Criminal Record Check.

Most of the work can be completed online.  Click on the links below to learn more.  For additional information, including nearby fingerprinting locations, check out the related document entitled "How to Obtain a Criminal Background Check."

Governor Tom Wolf ordered that starting July 25, the PA criminal history and child abuse history record checks will be provided for free to individuals obtaining them strictly for volunteering purposes.

Please refer to the step-by-step guide on how to post a volunteer opportunity on the right hand side of this page. Post as many as you'd like and expect us to post the opportunity within 1 business day.
